Did you know the plastic wrap your magazine comes in is LDPE 4 recyclable?

We understand you are a conscientious group who are concerned about the environment and some of you have been in touch about how to dispose of your poly wrap. Obviously we share your concerns for the planet and we are happy to reassure you that the plastic wrap your magazine comes in is made from the recyclable product that DEFRA - the department responsible for safeguarding our natural environment, supporting our world-leading food industry, and sustaining a thriving rural economy - recommends. It’s also worth noting that the magazine itself, of course, is also 100% recyclable.

Some councils are beginning to collect carrier bags and other LDPE 4 packaging as part of household recycling schemes. Why not ask your local council if they are accepted in your area before putting them in the recycling bin?

The majority of larger UK supermarkets now offer recycling facilities for LDPE plastics that contain the label with the message "recycle with carrier bags at larger stores - not at kerbside”.

The following supermarkets offer collection points at larger stores:

  • Asda
  • Morrisons
  • Sainsbury's
  • Tesco
  • The Co-operative
  • Waitrose

Find out where to recycle your polywrap. Visit to learn more and use their handy Recycling Locator tool.

All paper used in our publications comes from responsibly managed forests and is FSC approved. FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests.
